1. When an Electric Car battery discharges, both the positive and negative electrode materials react with sulfuric acid in the electrolyte to form lead sulfate. Under normal circumstances, the resulting lead sulfate has a loose structure and very fine crystals, exhibiting high electrochemical activity.
2. It is strictly forbidden to short-circuit the positive and negative terminals of the Electric Car battery. Do not frequently use the battery until the undervoltage protection circuit activates before charging; charge it promptly.
3. If the indicator light does not change color after 10 hours of continuous charging, stop charging immediately and check if the battery temperature is hot. The total charging time should be controlled to no more than 8 hours; otherwise, the battery will be damaged due to expansion and deformation.
4. Carrying less heavy objects in the Electric Car is also beneficial to the battery. Control the vehicle speed and braking to avoid high-current discharge. When starting an Electric Car, turn the throttle slowly, pausing occasionally, and only continue accelerating once the speed has increased.
5. Avoid frequent charging. Short charging times have a significant impact on batteries. Charging without use and unplugging the power cord immediately upon use, regardless of whether the battery is fully charged, will result in a short battery lifespan.
6. The charger itself also has an impact. It's necessary to properly check all the charger's parameters. Some charger manufacturers increase the current during the constant voltage to float charging transition to reduce the indicated charging time. This means that even when the charging indicator shows a full charge, the battery may not be fully charged, and the manufacturer compensates by increasing the float voltage. Therefore, we need to pay close attention when choosing a charger.
