Dongfeng Cars Charger and Battery Maintenance Methods

2026 05/18

After taking delivery of a new Dongfeng Cars, the battery must be fully charged immediately. To avoid damaging the battery, over-discharging, under-charging, and overcharging are prohibited. Charge the battery on the same day after use, and do not exceed 3 days.

During use, avoid sudden acceleration (pressing the accelerator pedal). Accelerate slowly; otherwise, it will seriously affect battery life and may even burn out the motor.
In daily use, try not to drive the Dongfeng Cars to its maximum mileage. The optimal mileage is 1/3 to 2/3 of the maximum mileage. (For example, for a vehicle with a maximum mileage of 150km, it is best not to exceed 100km in daily use. This will greatly extend battery life and reduce battery usage costs.) When the Dongfeng Cars is not in use, the battery should be fully charged before storage and recharged once a month to prevent long-term undercharging from causing sulfation of the battery plates.
The charger provided with the vehicle must have sufficient accuracy and voltage and current stabilization performance and pass the company's technical testing and certification. It is strictly forbidden to use low-quality, cheap chargers with poor aging resistance, otherwise, the battery will be damaged.
Batteries must not be placed in sealed containers, near open flames, thrown into fire, or submerged in water. Direct exposure to sunlight is strictly prohibited.
Gel batteries contain an acidic solution; if they come into contact with skin or clothing, rinse immediately with clean water.
The ambient temperature during charging should be between 10℃ and 30℃, with good ventilation. Lower temperatures will affect charging efficiency and may even lead to sulfation, while higher temperatures can cause charger component parameters to drift and may even cause thermal runaway, resulting in battery swelling.
Batteries must not be short-circuited or inverted. Disassembly of the battery is prohibited without permission; any problems should be addressed by a professional repair technician.
